Obesity care personalized for your family
You’ll receive a treatment plan tailored to your child or teen’s needs and your family’s goals. We specialize in behavioral & medical programs for overweight & obesity.
Your Clarity journey
Your first appointment at Clarity Pediatrics is a virtual medical visit with a licensed pediatric clinician who specializes in overweight & obesity care. They can evaluate your child or teen for obesity or discuss your family’s goals with a pre-existing diagnosis. This is like a regular doctor’s appointment, and your insurance will be billed for the virtual visit.
You’ll leave the first appointment with a personalized treatment plan. Most families choose to enroll in Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight, but you can also explore other services with your clinician.

Overweight & Obesity Evaluations
Our licensed clinicians can evaluate your child or teen for overweight and obesity. Our virtual evaluation process typically consists of one to two appointments and includes a review of your child's relevant medical history, growth trajectory, behavioral and lifestyle factors, and clinical interviews with both your child (for part of the evaluation) and their parents/caregivers. Lab tests may be ordered as part of the initial evaluation if clinically indicated.
If your child meets the criteria for overweight or obesity, our team will provide you with an evidence-based treatment plan that may include our Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight program, lifestyle medicine guidance, and/or a medical consultation. If your child does not meet the criteria, our team will provide resources and recommendations, as appropriate.
Please note: these appointments are considered a clinical service.

Program Consultations
If your child or teen has already been identified as having overweight or obesity — whether by a referring pediatrician or through a prior evaluation — our licensed clinicians will meet with you to understand your family's goals and help determine whether our Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight program may be a good fit. Our virtual consultation includes a review of your child's relevant medical history, growth history, and clinical interviews with the parents/caregivers. Initial
At the conclusion of the consultation, our team will provide you with a personalized treatment plan that may include our group program, ongoing medical care, and/or lifestyle medicine recommendations.
Please note: this appointment is a clinical service. For billing information, please see our FAQs.

Behavioral Therapy Programs
We offer a virtual group program for families of children and teens with overweight or obesity, led by a dedicated pediatrician and behavioral health clinician working together.
Positive Parenting for Healthy Weight teaches parents science-backed strategies for building sustainable healthy habits around food, movement, sleep, and screen time — grounded in the six pillars of lifestyle medicine and the 2023 AAP Guidelines. The program runs for eight weeks, meeting weekly at the same day and time, and is attended by parents only. Topics covered include values and motivation, body image, healthy relationships with food, community habits, nutrition, movement, and sleep and screens.
For families with ongoing medical needs after completing the program, continuity care with 1:1 medical visits and medication management is available.

Medication Management & Lifestyle Medicine
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends intensive lifestyle intervention as the first-line treatment for children and adolescents with overweight and obesity. If medication is of interest to your family, or is a part of your current care plan, our licensed pediatricians can conduct a medication consultation. In this virtual appointment, a pediatrician will share information about medications — including GLP-1 therapies where clinically appropriate — and lifestyle changes as part of an evidence-based treatment plan, with plenty of time for questions.
If your family decides to initiate a weight management medication with Clarity Pediatrics, our pediatricians will write the prescription(s), handle titration, monitor for side effects, assist with refills, and conduct regular virtual check-ups in coordination with your child's pediatrician.
Clarity Pediatrics' medication management service is not a replacement for your child's primary care physician and only covers medication as part of a healthy weight treatment plan.
